San Francisco, CA, United States (AHN) – Wells Fargo is hiring more than 1,000 people for retail banks in the mid-Atlantic region.

The San Francisco-based company is adding tellers, store managers and personal bankers to its staff as part of its integration with Wachovia branches.

The new hires are for full-time and part-time positions at 404 locations in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. The vacancies are expected to be filled by May.

The nation’s fourth-largest bank, Wells Fargo acquired Wachovia in December 2008. The company has integrated Wells Fargo and Wachovia banks in the Midwest, and eastern and southern states. It plans to complete rebranding of mid-Atlantic locations by fall.
