Higher jobless rate wrongfoots economists

The unemployment rate has risen unexpectedly to 5.4 per cent, as more people join the search for work. New figures from the Bureau of Statistics show almost 30,000 jobs were created in October. However, that was tempered by a big fall in full time jobs.
