FHA DPA Losses Could Exceed $13 Billion

In its annual report to Congress, the Federal Housing Administration said loans involving seller-financed down-payment assistance have resulted in $6.6 billion in claims so far. Seller-paid DPA is no longer allowed on government-insured loans. FHA expects that such loans will ultimately cost $13.6 billion.
