Fed unveils $US600 billion boost

The US Federal Reserve will pump another $US600 billion into the flagging American economy, in the hope of putting a dent in the 9.6 per cent unemployment figure. It’s the Fed’s second round of so-called quantitative easing, adding to its earlier $US1.75 trillion package.
