Key Biscayne, FL, United States (AHN) – A construction worker died after some hurricane glass fell on him inside a container truck. Rescuers were forced to cut a hole on the side of the container to reach the trapped worker however it was too late.

He died at the scene, according to a Key Biscayne fire rescue spokesperson.

The incident occurred just after noon on Wednesday when the truck was parked along Harbor Lane and Harbor Court.

Authorities said the man was delivering windows to a vacant home and was in the back of the 18-wheeler when the two glass windows weighing 3,000 pounds fell and crushed him, officials said.

Another worker who was in the truck when the scaffolding and glass shifted was able to escape with just an arm injury.
