Champaign County jobless rate drops, but most others in area rise

Champaign County’s unemployment rate dropped in November, but rates for most other counties in East Central Illinois went up.

Champaign County’s rate dropped to 8.3 percent in November, down from 8.5 percent in October, according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
